Headed to Uganda {but for another reason!}

UGANDA.

I can hardly believe it!

I'm going to Uganda next month!

This seed was planted months ago when I was talking with a friend who has been raising awareness and funds for some beautiful women in Sorati, Uganda.  In the past few months, they've been able to supply 10 cooperatives with 10 cows each- supporting around 300 women so they can provide for themselves and their children.  They've been supporting projects in this region to help these women be able to thrive in a country that has been effected by AIDS, poverty, and war.  We are going to visit these women and help put on a conference for them : to encourage them to let God bless the broken places, and to be uplifted to continue living creatively. We hope to help with training and investing (by giving cows, oxen, and small business loans) so that more women will be able to start projects and thrive. I will hopefully be documenting this trip with my camera, and soaking in the beauty of the women and children I will get to meet there.

To me this means so much to be able to go and support widowed and single moms.  As we are on this adoption journey, I want to be fully aware of the people of Uganda and especially moms who are doing there best to love and care for their children, despite their circumstances.

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling".  Psalm 68:5

I can not wait to visit a place that is potentially my children's homeland.  God has provided for me to be able to go on this trip through a few weddings that I've been able to photograph this summer and I'm so, so grateful.  For me and Dan, this in an investment.  And hopefully my heart will be confirmed about doing our adoption through Uganda...

I can't wait to share with you all about this incredible adventure!
